Sri Lanka Sports Science Association
In 2009, the most powerful team of fitness experts ever assembled joined together with an unyielding commitment to stem the tide of physical decline in our country. Culled from the elite ranks of research, coaching, sports medicine and sport and fitness science, these individuals decided to draw a line in the sand and turn the tide towards a more fit and healthier nation. They formed the Sri Lanka Sports Science Association with the mission of standardizing information and transforming the health & fitness of our nation.
The Sri Lanka Association for Exercise and Sport Sciences(SLAESS) believes that the health and fitness of our society can be significantly improved by our students' success as health, sports and fitness professionals. Our efforts to stem the tide of poor health and physical decline are multiplied exponentially as our graduates and members disseminate the SLAESS principles and methods to their clients, peers and associates. Now, after more than a decade of successfully fulfilling our initial mission of setting and developing standards within the fitness industry, our goals currently focus on providing expanded access to the highest quality certification and continuing education programs available.
In view of our leadership role as fitness educators, we are also unconditionally committed to advancing our industry as a whole, and to develop greater access to career opportunities for those who share our vision of helping others live a healthier, more dignified life.
Our Vision for the Future
SLAESS was the first organization to recognize the need for specialized levels of education in the fitness field. We established standards of professionalism that are now recognized throughout our industry. We built our organization in response to the public's need for professional guidance and inspiration combined with a strong foundation of scientific knowledge and practical understanding. Our efforts become multiplied by hundreds of times as our graduates take the principles and practices they learn from our programs and disseminate this information to their clients.
